Ingredients
- 200g Baranjski Kulen, well-aged
- 1 large fresh white onion
- Homemade bread or rustic white loaf
- Šljivovica (plum brandy) for serving
Steps
1
Remove the outer casing from the kulen. Slice by hand into thick rounds, at least 5mm — never use a machine.
2
Slice the onion into thick rings.
3
Tear or slice the bread into generous chunks.
4
Arrange everything on a wooden board. Pour šljivovica into small glasses. Take a shot before the first bite — that's the rule.
Tips
The kulen should be at room temperature, not cold from the fridge. Take it out at least 30 minutes before serving — the flavors open up dramatically.
